Working with Sliderocket

I am using SlideRocket.com and I love the application already. Though I can’t yet say anything about what’s inside the private beta, I can show you the results…

It far exceeds all other browser-based presentation software that I have tried (including Google’s own) and feels very much like a Keynote-in-a-browser.

Introducing SlideRocket.com

One anxiety I had in adopting Google Chrome as my browser was: how well will it behave with SlideRocket? I was prepared to be lenient: both products are in beta (SlideRocket will soon be in public beta), and SlideRocket’s own dependence on Flash means that this is more a test of the plug-ins than of the Chrome or SlideRocket themselves. Still, I held my breath as I tested this on a few slides: and I was blown away.

Here’s a quick example of the type of result — just a collection of slides and transitions but created and shared and displayed without a shred of instability.

The beauty of it is that Google Chrome allows me just to peel off the SlideRocket web app onto my desktop and I have a portable, high-end presentation package that is stable and effective anywhere I have an Internet connection. I just can’t wait for the two to come out of beta!
